Chiangrai Town

Tourist attractions in Chiang Rai town are mostly cultural and historical ones, especially temples and museums. In the evening, find some nice gourmet restaurats with fantastic atmosphere near the bridge across Kok River or near the clock tower intersection. After that, you can simply indulge yourself with various products in the night bazaar market. It's most convenient to visit Chiang Rai town in the last day after having visited all the hills outside tow. This is because you can directly fly back to Bankok from Chiang Rai Airport which is only 8 kilometers away from town.

Mae Sai

Mae Sai District

Located   62 kilometers from Chiang Rai town, Mae Sai is the northest district of Thailand. Most people visit this district in order to get further to Myanmar or for shopping inexpensive Myanmar goods.

Chiang Saen District

For those who travel with their own car, the driving route along Khong River from Chiang Sean-Chiang Khong-Wiang Kean to Toeng districts is a marvelous choice, You might start at the Golden Triangle, visit Opium Tower, and Chiang Saen old city. Then go further along the river to Phra That Pha Ngao, Ban Haad Krai in Chiang Khong district. After that, drive on to Pha Tang in Wiang Kaen district and finally to Phu Chi Fa in Toeng district nicely and easily.

Mae Fah Luang District

Doi Mae Salong, Doi Tung and Doi HuaMae Khan are three hills that you can arrange to visit in a single trip along highway 1130 and 1338. Although the road is pretty steep and winding, it cuts pass many hilltribe villages and also runs paralleled with Myanmar border. No wonder there are plenty of beauty spots to find along this route.

Chiang Khong district is around 141 kilometers away from Chiangrai town along highway 1129 (Chiang Saen- Chiang Khong route). It is approximately 55 kilometers from Chiang Saen. The major attractions in this district come from temples and many village of Lue hilltribes
